| History: | The Center for Population Studies Library was created in the 1940's to serve the Department of Demography. Over time, the focus of the department shifted, until it became the Department of Population and International Health. The focus of the library also changed, and the collection developed a much broader focus. In 1990, the library was divided, with a reading room being formed at the Center for Population and Development Studies in Cambridge. The Center for Population Studies Library and Center for Population reading room currently focus on a diverse range of topics, including demography, public health, development, nutrition, health economics, epidemiology and ecology.
